Building Wellbeing using
LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY®
My name is Dr Geraint Wyn Story and I am a qualified LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® practitioner based in Cambridge in the UK.
Two years ago I ran my first ‘building wellbeing’ workshop at the University of Cambridge’s annual Festival of Wellbeing, and have continued to run LEGO®-based wellbeing workshops ever since. These have been very successful and received great feedback.
With the current global crisis around Covid-19, the restrictions on face-to-face interaction, and the natural feelings of anxiety and uncertainty many of us are experiencing, this seems like the ideal time to explore ways to ‘build wellbeing’ online.
The session is designed to be led by accredited and experienced LEGO® SEROUS PLAY® facilitators. If you would like to participate in a session of ‘building wellbeing’, please get in touch.
Please feel free to download the model instructions as a PDF.
Using the Window Exploration Kit
The Window Exploration Kits are great little sets with a mix of pieces and ideal for small builds. Participants on my online ‘building wellbeing’ workshops will receive one by post. Along with fellow LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® facilitator Peter Moore Fuller, I have developed a set of instructions for a number of fun and interesting builds using only the Window Exploration Kit. You are free to download these – please consider making a donation to Mind via my JustGiving page.
The workshop lasts for about two and a half hours

How it works online
As LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® facilitators we are used to being in the room, leaning in and getting hands on with the models. Delivering workshops online has limitations, but it is still possible to provide an excellent experience to participants.
I am still developing my own techniques, but this blog will give you my insights so far on using Zoom for workshops…
